Sixteen units were damaged in a massive fire at the Pointe Sienna apartment complex on Powers Avenue on Thursday night.
Action News Jax is being told that the fire spread through the attic of a building and took just about one hour to bring under control from the time it was called in.
Sixteen units of that building were damaged and 11 of those units were occupied, according to Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department Chief Andrew White.
Several units were saved, White said, but those units damaged sustained smoke, fire and water damage.
The Red Cross said it would be assisting 48 people, including 20 children and infants. No injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported, White said.
