The incident happened early in the morning on August 9 when a white man was checking cars on Rosebay Court, according to the report.
The report says around 4:25 a.m. the man then checked the victim's Chevy Tahoe, which was unlocked, and took a gun and holster from the center console.
The man put the weapon and holster in his backpack and then wiped the handle on the driver's side and rode away on his bicycle, according to the report.
JSO canvassed the area, but the man was not found. The gun is not a JSO-issued gun, according to police.
It’s time! #9PMRoutine time.

-Guns out of vehicle
-Valuables out of vehicle
-Lock doors
To be #9PMRoutine compliant, you must do all three. Not just lock your doors with your gym bag that contains your iPad in the backseat.
