UPDATE: The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has released the name and a photo of the suspect believed to be the gunman in this mornings shooting on Bunnell Dr.
George Kenneth Litgen, 50, fled on foot after shooting his half-brother who is not expected to survive, according to police.
A search of official court records found Litgen has a lengthy criminal history in Duval County, including Battery, Aggravated Assault and Criminal Mischief.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says a man is fighting for his life after being shot by his half-brother.
Police responded to a home on Bunnell Drive early Saturday, a home they say has a history of domestic violence.
Investigators quickly identified the gunman as the victim’s half-brother.
The suspect -- who fled the scene -- is described as a white male with tattoos.
Police do not believe there is any threat to the public and say they will provide a photo of the suspect shortly.
