Man badly hurt after hit-and-run crash in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police are looking for a female hit-and-run driver accused of hitting two people Thursday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Officers arrived at the scene in the 2400 block of Miss Muffet Lane West just before 5 p.m. in reference to the crash.

According to JSO's investigation, the driver traveling west near the 6800 block of Goldilocks Lane struck a vehicle, briefly interacted with the driver of that vehicle and then drove off, striking a pedestrian about a block away.


After hitting the pedestrian, who is said to be a lawn service worker, police said the driver then struck a fence before running away southbound on Miss Muffet Lane West -- leaving the car behind.

The worker, who was standing near his truck at the time, was badly hurt and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The person in the car that was hit is expected to be OK. The JSO Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating.
