JACKSONVILLE, Fla — Reports from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office state that at approximately 12:55 a.m. Sunday, JSO Patrol Officers responded to the 1600 block of Wilcox Street in reference to assisting JFRD with a male lying in the street covered in blood.

On arrival, an adult male was located suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. JFRD pronounced the male deceased on scene.

The JSO Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded and are on scene conducting the investigation. JSO states that they currently do not know the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death, but are searching the area for witnesses and surveillance video.
