“We are thrilled to offer this annual race, starting and finishing at the beautiful St. Augustine Lighthouse on Anastasia Island,” Carice Schuster, President of The Junior Service League of St. Augustine said. “We are fortunate to host one of St. Augustine’s oldest 5Ks at this important landmark.”

The inaugural race was held in 1983 and was originally titled the “Bud Light Twilight Lighthouse Run.” The Lighthouse 5K is a chipped race, or one that measures participants electronically.

The Lighthouse 5K serves as a qualifier for the famed Gate River Run held in Jacksonville.

Proceeds from the Lighthouse 5K Run/Walk & Fun Run benefit numerous JSL service projects and provide financial support for local nonprofit organizations in St. Augustine and the St. Johns community.

In addition to the race, Night Fest is offered to the community from 3 until 7 p.m., Feb. 18. It’s a free event that includes children’s activities, museum exhibits, and a chance to climb the lighthouse in the evening.

The Lighthouse 5K & Fun Run is being presented by Florida Power & Light this year.
