Logging truck rollover just south of Fuller Warren Bridge closes northbound lanes for hours

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol said in a report that the two hours and counting traffic jam near the Fuller Warren Bridge was caused by an overturned logging truck.

According to witnesses, the truck was traveling too fast for the load it was carrying. FHP said that as a result, it overturned while taking a curve approaching the bridge. The tractor trailer came to a rest blocking all lanes on I-95 northbound.

Traffic cameras in the area showed that the logs had spilled onto the northbound lanes as well. FHP was also able to confirm this.

A sports utility vehicle was also involved in the highway incident.

“A second vehicle collided with one of the logs and became disabled as a result,” the FHP report said.
