UPDATE: Man admitted to stabbing pregnant Jacksonville woman, report says
A man accused of fatally stabbing a pregnant woman and her unborn child is being held without bond, according to court documents.
Armanuel Cummings, 38, is charged with murdering the woman in a home on West 21st Street Saturday night. Neighbors said Cummings was the victim’s boyfriend.
Investigators spent hours outside the home collecting evidence and talking to witnesses. Several neighbors told Action News Jax the victim is D’Anna Thorn, 29, who was five months pregnant and was working to make positive changes in her life.
“She wanted to change her life,” said a neighbor who didn’t want to say her name.

Neighbors said while the two argued a lot, they always seemed to make up.
“She would leave and then when it cooled off, she would come back and everything would be OK,” a neighbor said.
But this argument turned deadly. A neighbor told Action News Jax she heard the two fighting Saturday afternoon.
At one point, she said Cummings dragged the woman down the stairs and slammed the door. When Thorn went back inside, there was a loud scream, the neighbor said.
“I never thought something like that would happen. She was pregnant. It’s sad to lose a life. You lost two lives in one,” the neighbor said.
Cummings will be back in court May 16.
