Man killed in Duval County crash

DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — A man was killed in crash in Duval County Monday night.

The crash happened around 7 p.m. this evening- a White man in his 30s driving a blue Yukon

The 30-year-old white man was driving a blue Yukon southbound on Roosevelt. JSO says the driver was speeding and got too close to the overpass on Park Street when he lost control of his car, went over the median and hit several trees before the car flipped.

The man was taken from the scene in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

This was the only injury involved in the accident, and the driver was the only person in the car at the time.

JSO did note this was the 12th traffic death of 2022, which is one every other day.

There are still several road closures and JSO says they have officers station to help with detours while they clear the scene. It should be cleared before morning.
