JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville man has life-threatening injuries after being shot in Southwest Jacksonville Saturday.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to the Westland Park Apartments in reference to a man shot inside the gated apartment complex at 6710 Collins Road.
Officers said a man was shot by a suspect who remained at the scene. When police arrived at the apartment complex the suspect was taken into custody.
The victim was taken to Orange Park Medical Center and is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
No other details were given by police due to the shooting being an active investigation.
Violent Crimes Task Force is leading the investigation of the shooting.
