JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was hospitalized with a gunshot wound after a domestic dispute early Sunday morning at a Jacksonville apartment complex, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Officers responded around 12:50 a.m. to the Edge at Town Center Apartments at 3544 St. Johns Bluff Road South in reference to a person shot.
When officers arrived, they found a man in his mid-40s suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper leg. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue transported the victim to a local hospital, where his injuries were listed as non-life-threatening.
According to investigators, the victim and the suspect are in a domestic relationship. JSO says the two were involved in an argument inside the suspect’s residence when the suspect allegedly shot the victim once in the leg.
Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and said there is no ongoing threat to the community.
The suspect, described as a woman in her late 30s, is in police custody and is being interviewed by detectives.
