Nassau County, Fla. — Nassau County deputies have arrested Tre’ Daquane Corbett, 29, and Gregory Gerrod Crawford, 36, in connection to a robbery at a Circle K convenience store in Hillard.

On Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021, the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a robbery at convenience store on US-1 in Hilliard.

While en route, deputies received a possible description of the getaway vehicle, described as a light colored van and traveling southbound on US-1. Moments later, a deputy observed a speeding vehicle matching the description and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

After deputies say the driver of the van refused to stop, stop sticks were used which deflated the front tires on the van and the two men inside were detained.

An investigation revealed both suspects traveled to Nassau County from Jacksonville to see how they could make some money, according to a report.

Investigators say when they stopped at the Circle K in Hilliard the right front passenger got out and entered the store while the driver remained in the vehicle.

The suspect in the store proceeded to a cigarette rack and started loading packs of cigarettes into a black trash bag.  When the store employee confronted him the suspect struck the employee in the face with his fist and ran out of the store and jumped in the van which took off southbound on US-1 heading back towards Jacksonville.

Corbett is charged with Robbery. Crawford faces several charges including Robbery and Fleeing and Eluding a Law Enforcement Officer.
