A Nassau County family is searching for the thieves who stole their trailer with $10,000 worth of tools inside.
Stephanie Tomberlin said the trailer was stolen from their building site early Sunday morning. The tools were being used to build their dream home.
In a Facebook post, Tomberlin wrote “waking up to find this type of violation committed against our family is just too much to handle at this point.”

Due to ongoing medical bills, the family chose to build their own home from the ground up.
Chris Tomberlin said they can’t get the job done without their tools.
“This is our dream house and it's supposed to be our forever home, now it's just aggravation,” he said.

The family said the home is more than just a structure, it marks a new beginning.
“This home is a labor of love. I know it’s been a sense of therapy for our family. They’ve used their hands to build this home when they can’t fix what’s happened to our child,” Stephanie said.
