"The dogs sound off when anything is in the area," said Grover Felch.
Neighbors have allegedly seen panthers in and around the wood line. There's been no official verification, but some aren't taking any chances.
"I was military for 33 years. I have a way of protecting myself from anything like that," Felch said.

Action News reached out to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, which is in charge of documenting sightings. FWC said panthers have predominately stayed in south and central Florida. The farthest north they've been verified is Flagler County. If they really are in Nassau, that's huge.
"I know my parents live in here and they've seen them," Felch said.
FWC believes some people are mistaking panthers for bobcats. Regardless, moms like Stephanie Blanton, are still a little worried.
"They can come out all of a sudden and I don't have time to react to get him quick enough," Blanton said.
FWC said if you see a large cat, safely take a picture, but don't go near it. Bring your pets inside and remove food from around your home
In August, there was one panther sighting in Nassau County, and two in Duval County. None of those have been verified.
