Neighbors say flooding issues normal in Orange Park neighborhood

Pictures sent to Action News Jax show Dolphin Street in Orange Park flooded after Thursday’s rainfall.

People who live in the neighborhood say it’s normal, and have been dealing with it for years.

“I’ve gone around the whole block in a kayak before,” said neighbor Paul Adams.

Neighbors said on Thursday the street became inaccessible. Cars stalled trying to drive through the water.

“People can’t come home from work,” Adams said. “My mom, my wife couldn’t come home.”

Neighbors say they’ve contacted Orange Park Public Works several times to request ditch or storm drain improvements.

Orange Park Town Clerk Sarah Campbell told us she was aware of the flooding.

We sent an email to the town’s Public Works Department, but hadn’t heard back as of Friday evening.
