ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Tesla just installed a brand new charging station for electric cars in St. Augustine.
The charger is now at the oldest bed and breakfast in the city.
Stefan Zander knows what it's like to be on the search for a place to charge his Tesla.
“When you have an electric car, you're always wondering about where you're going to charge when you're going to get your next charge,” Zander said.
Zander did find the modern technology. Recently he found it at The St. Francis Inn at a bed and breakfast in the nation’s oldest city.
“We stayed over at his place and it just gave us a chance to plug in at night and have a fully charged car in the morning,” Zander said.

The station charges Tesla electric cars on one side, and any other type of electric car on the opposite side. Owner Joe Finnegan said more and more customers are demanding it.
“If we want to stay as a top notch first rate destination then we gotta be able to provide the kinda of services that travelers are looking for,” said Finnegan.
Finnegan said the closest charging station to downtown is about 10-12 miles away.
Right now, his place is only open to guests at the bed and breakfast, but drivers said it's a start.
“And just having that right in your backyard here in downtown St. Augustine is super, super convenient,” Finnegan said.
The owner said the charging station is free.
