One man dead after crash in Putnam County

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol reported that a fatal crash occurred Sunday morning on state road 100 near Bardin Rd.

STORY: Man in critical condition after crash on US 90 in Nassau County

At approximately 3:41 a.m., a sedan was traveling in the eastbound lane of state road 100, when he veered into the westbound lane and shoulder for an unknown reason.

The vehicle then changed paths and veered right before beginning to rotate. The car traveled into the eastbound shoulder and collided into a utility pole.

FHP pronounced the 30-year-old driver dead at the scene. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
