Palatka police warn of scammer claiming to be with AT&T

PALATKA, Fla. — The Palatka Police Department urges people to be on alert for a scammer claiming to be an AT&T worker.

A victim told PPD that a person came to his property claiming to be an employee of AT&T, said PPD. The victim gave personal information and signed up for a service, said the PPD.

The personal information included the Social Security number and date of birth.

PPD urges people to be alert to these scams, and always confirm a person’s identity if they claim to represent a business.
