JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is working to identify a suspect in an attempted bank robbery that happened on Philips Highway on Friday morning.
The bank robbery attempt was reported to BB&T representatives just before 10 a.m. JSO released photos of the suspect Friday afternoon.
JSO said the suspect arrived at the bank in a black, four-door vehicle. The suspect said nothing and handed a teller a note demanding money that said "there was a bomb and he was wearing a microphone" and also instructed the teller to "stay calm."
As the teller read the note, the suspect took it from her and left the bank. He was last seen leaving the parking lot in his vehicle, heading north.
Anyone who has any information in regards to the identity of the suspect is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500 or email JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org. To remain anonymous and receive a possible reward up to $3,000, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
