PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — The Ponte Vedra Beach branch Library was reportedly struck by lightning causing heavy smoke Friday afternoon.
No fire was visible from the structure but heavy smoke was seen emanating from the roof for several hours, as seen in our drone video.
The St. John’s Fire Rescue crews were on the scene working on the roof to put out the smoke.
Action News Jax is working to talk with the St. Johns County Fire Department to learn how much damage was sustained to the inside of the library.
