JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — President Barack Obama is visiting Jacksonville Friday afternoon.
Obama will visit Saft America on Jacksonville’s Westside.
The White House said Obama is making the visit to highlight the president’s economic recovery plan.

The president will arrive at about 12:30 p.m. He is expected to talk about his role in the country’s economic bounce-back. He then is expected to leave around 4 p.m.
The company produces a lithium ion battery that help integrate renewable energy. The facility was funded in part by federal stimulus money. The company also employs about 300 people, including veterans.
Renewable energy was a big focus in the Recovery Act when Obama signed it into law seven years ago. It is also expected to be the focus of his remarks.

The area where the president will be speaking inside Saft America was only open for media to set up until 6:15 a.m. Dogs and security teams searched the property throughout the morning.

Obama’s last trip to the city was three years ago.
