CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — A local 14-year-old is still shaken up after being solicited for sex by a middle aged man outside her school.
Action News spoke with the victim’s mother who says the incident happened outside of Oakleaf Junior High School on Tuesday night.
She says her eighth-grader was walking her dog when a man in a car stopped her, engaged her in a normal conversation, then repeatedly asked her for sex, offering to pay her.
Thankfully, the young girl was able to run away home and call the police.
Her mother, Dianna Larkin, is proud of how she handled herself.

“It's just really scary. It's absolutely terrifying that somebody here- who was obviously looking for young girls- asked her if she went to the school before asking her for sex,” Larkin said. "I have great faith in this community. If he's here, well find him."
The suspect is described as in his late 40s early 50s with a regular height and build.
He has gray, thinning hair and a gray beard, and was driving a white sedan.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
