ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — A sale that started online ended with the teenage seller being hit by a car on Sunday at Denny’s on State Road 16.
According to a St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office offense report, a man approached the teen at work about a Gucci backpack he was selling.

They had an exchange online and agreed to meet here the next day.
The report says things went downhill when the teen pulled out his iPhone 6 and reached into the car to show the buyer the authenticity certificate of the backpack. Within seconds, the suspect made his move.
He grabbed the phone, made off with the backpack and hit the teen on his getaway.
The report said the teen rolled over the hood and hit the ground.

Denny's said its surveillance system only extends to the lobby and not outside, so there's no footage of the robbery.
The victim told police he tried to run after the car but couldn't catch it. The suspect's vehicle is described as a silver, four-door sedan.
