The Columbia County Sheriff's Office said Friday that they believe missing teen Caitlyn Frisina is northbound -- or could already be in the Northeastern United States somewhere.

Frisina, a Fort White High student, vanished early Sunday morning from her home in Lake City with a soccer coach, 27-year-old Rian Rodriguez.

The pair, traveling in a 2001 red Mercury Sable, were sighted multiple times in three different states. They were photographed last in Fayetteville, N.C. All of the sightings have been near I-95, which is the main artery from Florida into the Northeast.

Officials have asked citizens in Pennsylvania and New York to be on the lookout for the pair.

Rodriguez has family in Pennsylvania, and Fristina has family in New York.

Frisina's father, Ward Frisina, posted this to Facebook on Friday: "6 days have gone by and no word from you. My heart is so heavy over this situation. I know my love for you. I would like you to trust in the love you know I have for you. Please get in touch with me!"

CBS News reported Friday that Caitlyn's father "blames himself since he encouraged Rodriguez to apply for the coaching job."

"He said, 'I can't believe I put not just my child but other people's children in this kind of environment,'" Caitlyn's mother Scarlet said. "That's hard for him."
