The first medical marijuana dispensary in St. Augustine got the green light to move forward.
On Tuesday, the city’s Planning and Zoning Board members voted to allow Trulieve to open up shop.
The business will take over storefronts at the strip mall at 2303 N. Ponce de Leon Boulevard.
The company already has 15 dispensaries across the state, including one in Jacksonville.

Under state law, Trulieve is required to have a security guard on site during business hours.
The property will also be monitored by surveillance cameras to ensure the safety of customers and community.
Reid Wauson works next door to where the dispensary will open up.
He said he’s worried about the type of people it will attract to the area.
“I'm just hoping that there's not so much craziness up here like cops coming every day,” Wauson said.
The medical marijuana dispensary is forbidden from dispensing between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.
It can only serve patients or caregivers with a state-issued medical marijuana card and a physician’s order.
