Blackfly, Gas Full Service Restaurant in St. Augustine close after COVID-19 contact

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Blackfly in St. Augustine closed until Friday, June 26 after an employee tested “lite positive” for COVID-19, according to a Facebook post from the restaurant.

This sign on the door of Blackfly says, “Due to COVID-19 outbreaks in downtown, we will be closed until Friday the 26th.”

However, the restaurant’s Facebook page says they’re closed because a worker tested “lite positive.”

According to the owners, at least one of their workers got infected with the virus after coming into contact with someone who tested positive.

The closing came a day after some bars and restaurants reopened at Jacksonville’s beaches after being professionally cleaned.

At the end of the post the owner wrote, “Test result per medical professionals state ‘lite positive.‘”

Gas Full Service Restaurant also posted to Facebook saying “an employee has come in contact with someone that has tested positive for COVID-19.”

According to the post, the restaurant will be testing employees for coronavirus, but no date has been announced on when that will happen or when the restaurant will reopen.

New numbers from the Florida Department of Health show there are now 461 cases of coronavirus in St. Johns County, which is up 8 cases from yesterday.
