Bolles students make wheelchairs more accessible at St. Johns County beaches

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — QUICK FACTS:

• Students at the Bolles Campus in Ponte Vedra created a Lego project to make wheelchairs more accessible at beaches in St. Johns County.
• Fifth-grade students in First Lego League Program presented to county commissioners an app-based project that would let wheelchair users rent beach wheelchairs whenever they want to go to the beach.
• County commissioners were so interested in this idea that they’re now working to turn it into a reality.
