St. Johns deputies: Man takes gun from Gander Mountain, demands keys to Ford pickup at dealership

A Flagler County man is under arrest after St. Johns County deputies say he stole a gun and ammunition from one store and pointed a gun at a salesman and demanded the keys to a truck at another.

Trenard De'Quane Williams, 21, is facing charges of carjacking with a firearm, petit theft, aggravated assault, grand theft and resisting arrest without violence, according to a news release from the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

Williams went into the Gander Mountain store off Outlet Mall Boulevard on Tuesday morning, took a Beretta pistol and a box of ammunition and left the store, deputies said.

Williams then went to Bozard Ford Lincoln next door and asked to test drive a pickup truck, according to authorities.

Deputies said Williams pointed a gun at a salesman and demanded the keys to a 2016 Ford F-350 pickup. As he was about to leave, Williams was surrounded by deputies with their guns drawn.

Williams was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported.

Williams is being held in the St. Johns County Jail without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday morning.
