Only one restaurant was shut down this week for pest control issues
At Lime Leaf Thai Restaurant in Tapestry Park, a health inspector discovered 10 live roaches. The shrimp and curry sauces were being held too warm, and there was a lack of time markings on food and the inspector couldn’t tell if it was expired. The restaurant was temporarily shut down.
The manager allowed Action News Jax to take a look around the kitchen. Action News Jax didn’t see any lingering pest control issues. The manager said Lime Leaf gets regular pest control once a month. Lime Leaf must have two follow-up inspections before being allowed to reopen.
At Mist Bar and Lounge in Orange Park, an inspector found live flies in the kitchen. The inspector also issued a stop sale on five items, including chicken, turkey and salsa for temperature issues. The inspector found two bags of sandwich buns with a mold-like growth. A follow-up inspection is required.
At Laredo Mexican Restaurant, a health inspector noted live flies in the kitchen, issued a stop sale on tomatoes because of temperature issues and saw three to four rodent droppings. A follow up inspection is required.
Despite the findings of rodent droppings, the Mexican restaurant wasn’t shut down because the Florida requires a minimum of 5 droppings in order to be shut down.
