ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — According to Florida Highway Patrol, a red Hyundai Elantra was traveling south of US-1 on the left lane.
The 17-year-old male driver was trying to switch to the right lane when he lost control of the car.

The car exited the roadway to the right and hit a tree. After, the car rotated clockwise before coming to a final rest on the right shoulder heading northbound.
According to FHP, the driver was transported to UF Health in downtown Jacksonville with serious injuries.
