JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Tips led to the arrest of a man accused in the robberies of three convenience stores in Jacksonville, authorities said.
The Kangaroo on New Kings Road, the Gate gas station on New Kings Road and the Speedway gas station on Normandy Boulevard were all robbed Thursday morning within hours of one another. George Keene is accused of robbing the three gas station convenience stores.
Surveillance photos released later in the day by officials showed a man who was shirtless and had tattoos.
Keene was arrested Thursday night after officers received multiple tips about the man's identity from surveillance photos.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office received a call about Keene's location.
Deputies found the suspect's truck near Richard Road and Section Street. Keene was also found and arrested, deputies said.
Keene admitted to police during questioning that he was responsible for the robberies, JSO said.
Keene made his first appearance on Friday. A judge set a bond of $200,006.
