UPDATE: Missing St. Johns County woman, child found safe near Savannah, Ga.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — UPDATE 1/14/2020 6:48 p.m.: The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office announced that the missing woman and child have been located in Chatham County, near Savannah Georgia.

The Sheriff’s Office said they are both being evaluated by medical personnel. The family has been notified and are on their way to reunite.

ORIGINAL STORY 1/14/2020: Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating two family members that have been reported missing out of St. Johns County.

Lula Wise, 86, of St. Augustine, along with her 5-year-old great-granddaughter Asia Myers, were reported missing around 10 a.m. Thursday by a family member, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, after Asia did not show up for school.

Deputies said that family member went to check on them at Wise’s home in the 800 block of West 3rd Street in St. Augustine and noticed that both were missing, along with Wise’s car.

SJSO said they may be in Wise’s black 2019 Hyundai Sonata, bearing the Florida tag NAJJ74. Deputies believe the pair may have left the home overnight.

“Yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon was the last time that they were seen. We do know that she traveled throughout our county at various times throughout the night, up to 3 o’clock this morning (Thursday),” Capt. Dean with the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office shared a picture of the pair that was captured at 4 a.m. at a store located along Philips Highway in Jacksonville.

SJSO said that sighting was in Jacksonville in the area of Old St. Augustine Road. Deputies said Wise is a diabetic and doesn’t have her insulin with her and may be confused.

The two were also spotted on or along Interstate 95 in Georgia, authorities told Action News Jax.

A Florida Missing Child Alert has also been issued.
