Two school buses involved in crashes Monday morning in Jacksonville area

Two school buses were involved in crashes Monday morning in Duval and St. Johns counties.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the first crash happened State Road A1A North at Bermuda Bay Circle in Ponte Vedra Beach.

An Action News Jax viewer sent us a photo which appears to show a car that rear-ended the school bus.

Troopers were dispatched to that crash at 7 a.m.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said there were three students on board the bus at the time of the crash, but they were not hurt.

The bus was headed to Landrum Middle School.

FHP was dispatched to another school bus crash in Jacksonville about an hour later.

Troopers said a 59-year-old Jacksonville woman was driving a Durham school bus on I-295 north at I-95 in the south end when it left the road, and collided with numerous trees.

Four students and three adults were on board at the time of the crash. The FHP report said the driver suffered minor injuries. No one else was hurt.

FHP said the bus was taking students to Mandarin Oaks and Crown Point elementary schools at the time of the crash.
