JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police identified a man who was slain over the weekend as 25-year old Frankie Palmer.
Palmer was shot and killed off West 33rd Street.
“He was just a sweet person. He had his moments but he was always nice to everybody. And I'm just hurt,” said Lolanda Gardner.
Gardner spoke to Action News just two days after she found out her brother Frankie Palmer, a father of two, was shot and killed.
“I couldn't talk. I couldn't walk. All I could do is cry. Like him, Frankie oh man. I never thought it would happen,” said Gardner.
Police say Palmer, 25, was killed at a place called The Yard on Saturday morning.
Police found his body in the passenger seat of a gray car. Neighbors tell Action News, they heard more than 30 gun shots.
For two days, police cars sat in the front of The Yard, while officers investigated around back.
Action News was there when police began bringing out at least six dogs that looked like pit bulls.
Neighbors say there was dog fighting going on, but police say there were no signs of injuries to the animals.
Since the shooting, friends and family have left messages on Palmer’s Facebook page.
Meanwhile, Gardner says she doesn’t understand why someone would kill her brother.
“Anybody around, he made them laugh. He was so lovable. I just love my brother and I miss him. They Might as well turn themselves in because we know. I know everybody knows,” Gardner said.
