Warm and dry for Gate River Run, gradually warmer for THE PLAYERS

Jacksonville, Fl — As a signature weekend arrives, the weather is going to be just about perfect. The 45th Gate River Run on Saturday will be dry and calm, unlike last year’s blustery conditions.

Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says temperatures will be in the low 80s today and Saturday. It will be noticeably cooler at the beaches this afternoon as winds shift to off the cooler Atlantic.

Runners will experience morning temperatures in the low 50s for the start of Saturday’s race, then temps gradually climb into the low 80s.

Sunday will be a little warmer, in the mid-80s. And humidity returns by early next week, with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.

Buresh is tracking scattered afternoon showers for Tuesday - Military Appreciation Day at THE PLAYERS. A wetter weather pattern is taking shape for the second of the week - we will be monitoring the threat for showers impacting the start of THE PLAYERS on Thursday.
