Wayfair distribution center coming to Jacksonville, according to city

The city of Jacksonville said Monday that a Wayfair distribution center will be coming to Jacksonville.

Wayfair Inc. chose Jacksonville for a new warehouse and distribution center. The city approved the new center last month, naming the project "Project Empire."

This 1 million-square-foot warehouse will bring 250 jobs to our area by the end of 2021.

The distribution center will be at the Cecil Commerce Center on Jacksonville's Westside.

Mayor Lenny Curry said, "We are delighted to welcome Wayfair to Jacksonville. Their entry adds hundreds of jobs to our community, and contributes economic value that bolsters our statewide growth in job creation and demand.”
