Worker robbed taking out trash behind St. Augustine Outlets

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — A worker was robbed when she took out the trash behind the St. Augustine Outlets, according to deputies.

Deputies responded Monday night to the in the 500 block of Outlet Mall Boulevard.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said the 43-year-old victim was cleaning the mall and took out the trash. She was approached near the dumpster by a man who stole her Fossil watch, ripped open her shirt and punched her, deputies said.

The victim told deputies that the man didn’t say anything and she didn’t recognize him. The man left in a white, four-door car with dark, tinted windows, the victim told deputies.

Deputies said there was no surveillance cameras in the area and no witnesses in the parking lot.

The victim told deputies the suspect did not have a weapon.

The investigation is ongoing.
