Strong storms cause damage along Volusia County coast

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A line of strong storms moved across central Florida Friday afternoon leaving damage in their wake.

Channel 9 has learned that at least one airplane was flipped over at Massey Ranch Airpark near Edgewater.

Several callers to WFTV Channel 9 reported what they believed to be a tornado in the Edgewater area. One viewer sent a video of the possible tornado.

The strongest storms in the area of Edgewater and New Smyrna are moving off the coast while some storm activity is moving to the east in the Titusville and Kennedy Space Center area.
