“The Batman,” starring Robert Pattinson as Gotham City’s vigilante hero and Zoë Kravitz as the Catwoman, is expected to be released on March 4, Indie Wire reported. The film will be streamed by HBO Max, WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar recently confirmed to Vox (via IGN).

“Think about when movies would show up on HBO, which is eight to nine months after theatrical premiere. ‘The Batman’ is going to show up on Day 46 on HBO Max,” Kilar said. “That is a huge change from where things were in 2018, 2017, 2016.”

Monday’s new trailer focuses on the relationship between the two characters, featuring sequences of Batman and Catwoman (aka Selina Kyle in the movie) fighting one another and also trading coy exchanges. It’s a love-hate relationship that goes back to the campy 1960s television show, “Batman,” when actress Julie Newmar first tried to romantically sink her claws into the cowl of Adam West.

“You got a lot of cats,” Batman tells Kyle when he visits her apartment.

“I have a thing about strays,” she responds, holding what appears to be a glass of milk.

In the latest version of the D.C. Comics hero, Batman is trying to defeat The Riddler, played by Paul Dano, CNN reported.

“I’m just here to unmask the truth about this cesspool we call a city,” the Riddler says during the trailer.

“Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman, striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City,” according to the official synopsis of the movie. “With only a few trusted allies, Alfred Pennyworth, Lt. James Gordon, amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens.”

Also appearing in the movie are Andy Serkis as Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham City district attorney Gil Colson and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin.

The trailer ends with Batman and Catwoman fending off a group of armed men on a catwalk.

“Selina, don’t throw your life away,” Batman warns.

“Don’t worry, honey,” Kyle counters. “I’ve got nine of them.”

The movie is directed by Matt Reeves, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Peter Craig, CNN reported.
