Michael Nader, soap opera star of ‘Dynasty,’ ‘All My Children,’ dead at 76

Soap opera star Michael Nader, who starred on “All My Children” and “Dynasty,” died Monday from cancer. He was 76.

Nader died in his Northern California home, his manager, Richard Schwartz, told USA Today.

The actor was best known for playing Dex Dexter, the third husband of Alexis Colby (Joan Collins) on “Dynasty,” Entertainment Weekly reported.

“With heavy heart, I’m sharing the news of the passing of my beloved, Michael,” Nader’s wife, Jodi Lister, said in a statement to Michael Fairman TV. “We had 18 wonderful years together with the many dogs we fostered and adopted. Recently, Michael was so thrilled to reconnect with his friends from the cast of ‘Dynasty’ during Emma Samm’s virtual event to help raise funds for Long-COVID research. He was a beautiful and fascinating man with many talents and skills. I will miss him forever.”

Nader starred in 152 episodes of “Dynasty” from 1983 to 1989, IMDb.com reported. He later played the role of Dimitri Marick in the daytime series, “All My Children,” appearing in 402 episodes from 1991 to 2001 and 42 episodes in 2013.

Nader was born Feb. 19, 1945.

His screen career began in 1963 in the comedy film “Beach Party,” which led to roles in “Bikini Beach” and “Pajama Party,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. His credits on television included “Gidget,” “Magnum P.I.” and the 1983 soap opera series, “Bare Essence,” the website reported.

Nader also appeared in one episode of the daytime soap series, “As the World Turns.”
