New Selena Quintanilla single, ‘Como Te Quiero Yo A Ti,’ to drop Friday

A new single from Selena Quintanilla is slated to drop this week, almost three decades after the death of the Tejano icon.

According to KIII-TV, the singer’s family estate announced on social media last week that the track, “Como Te Quiero Yo A Ti” (“How I Love You”), will be released Friday.

“Fall in love with Selena all over again with brand new arrangements beautifully curated for her fans,” read the Facebook post, which included a clip from the song. “Warner Music Latina is proud to present, ‘Como Te Quiero Yo A Ti,’ the first single from her new upcoming anticipated album, ‘Moonchild Mixes,’ streaming worldwide Friday, July 29th!”

It wasn’t immediately clear when the 13-track album would drop, KIII reported. Spotify users can “presave” the song here.

Two other versions of “Como Te Quiero Yo A Ti” were released on previous albums, including Selena y los Dinos’ “Preciosa” (1987) and Quintanilla’s posthumous “Momentos Intimos” (2004), according to

Quintanilla, who was killed in 1995 by her fan club’s president, gained international fame before her death at age 23, selling more than 60 million albums, NBC News previously reported.
