HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — Police are looking for a man who they said assaulted a Home Depot employee while stealing items from the store.
The Hillsborough Police Department shared video of the crime on its Facebook Page, which shows somebody pushing a cart out of a Home Depot store on Tuesday. In the video, when an older man in an orange apron approaches the person pushing the cart, the person pushing the cart shoves the older man, causing him to fall to the floor.
The Hillsborough Police Department identified the victim in the video as an 82-year-old employee of the store, WRAL reported.
Police told WTVD the employee was trying to stop the suspect in the video, who was stealing from the store.
The Hillsborough Police Department said it believes the suspect is driving a 4-door white Hyundai Sonata with temporary North Carolina tags.
While the employee appeared to hit his head on a flower pot, the extent of his injuries are not known, WRAL reported.
