Browns vs. Jaguars: What you need to know about Jacksonville’s first 2021 preseason football game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars will hit the football field for the first time this season in Saturday night’s preseason matchup against the Cleveland Browns.

Fans will get to see both Trevor Lawrence, who was the Jaguars first-ever No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and Gardner Minshew, play at quarterback in this game.

Head Coach Urban Meyer said he wants “healthy competition” at every position.

This game at TIAA Bank Field will be a return to no restrictions on capacity, so fans who are attending the game are encouraged to arrive early.

To watch the game at home:

Tune into CBS47. The Action Sports Jax team will have pregame coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m. The game begins at 7 p.m.

3 p.m. Game day ticket office opens (north end zone between Gates 2 and 3)

3 p.m. Stadium parking lots open

4 p.m. Fan Entertainment Zone opens (south end zone between Gates 1 and 4)

6:25 p.m. Team warm-ups

6:45 p.m. Pregame festivities including performances by THE ROAR and D-Line

6:57 p.m. The First DUUUVAL

7 p.m. Navy Mutual Bell Ringer Ceremony

7:01 p.m. National anthem

7:07 p.m. Kickoff

Follow health and safety guidelines.

The Jaguars said many of last year’s contactless features will remain in place, including touchless security screening and ticket-scanning procedures, mobile ordering and cashless transactions and enhanced cleaning of public spaces. The team said in accordance with state and local guidelines, masks are recommended for unvaccinated guests, and anyone feeling unwell is encouraged to stay home.

Get to the Sports Complex area early so you can make it to your seat on time.

All parking lots around the stadium open four hours before kickoff. Gates 1 & 4 open three hours prior to kickoff and all stadium gates open two hours prior to kickoff.

Have your ticket downloaded and ready before arriving at the entry gates.

You can access your Jaguars secure digital tickets by downloading the official Jacksonville Jaguars app to your smartphone or navigate to Jaguars Account Manager via the web browser on your phone. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Jaguars App
  2. Click on the three horizontal lines in the top left-hand corner
  3. Click on “Tickets”
  4. Navigate to “Manage Tickets”
  5. This will bring you to an account manager page with two options. Choose the top option and click Sign In to Jaguars
  6. Sign in with your email provided on your account and enter your password. Please use the forgot my password option if there are any issues

Leave your cash at home.

Cash is no longer accepted anywhere at the stadium. In addition to traditional scan and chip options, the Jaguars said tap or scan payment options such as JagsPay, Apple, Google and Samsung pay are also available.

You can bring one sealed bottle of water.

The Jaguars said guests are allowed “to bring one, commercially-branded, factory-sealed, plastic, 16.9 oz. or less size bottle of water inside the gates at TIAA Bank Field.”

These bottles can be refilled at water-bottle filler stations inside the stadium.

Make sure your bag meets the size criteria.

Nonclear bags/wallets must be no larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″. Clear bags must be no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″.
