First Alert Weather: Record highs with some relief in view

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — WATCH LIVE: Meteorologist Corey Simma has your First Alert forecast all morning long on FOX30.

Another mild morning before Mother Nature turns the heater on again. We tied a record high Tuesday afternoon and I expect at least a record tie this afternoon. Abundant sunshine all day as temps climb into the upper 90s inland, 93 to 95 in JAX, and low 90s at the beaches. Off-shore winds in the morning shift back southeast by afternoon. We stay hot through Friday before southeasterly flow takes hold, “cools” us a bit through the weekend, and brings the rain back.

TROPICS

Tropical Storm Karen moving north of PR, expected to make a loop over the weekend while nearly reaching hurricane strength. Jerry is a post tropical cyclone and will start dissipating over the next day or two. Lorenzo will likely become a hurricane today as it stays out to sea. Finally, a tropical wave in the southern gulf is tracking toward the east coast of Mexico. Development not likely as it moves AWAY from FL.
