The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released its 2020 Atlantic seasonal forecast on Thursday morning. They are forecasting an above average hurricane season -- “60% chance of above average season.”
NOAA is forecasting 13 to 19 named storms, 6 to 10 hurricanes and 3 to 6 major hurricanes.
Colorado State University released its forecast a few weeks ago and forecasted 16 named storms, 8 hurricanes and 4 major hurricanes.
The First Alert Weather Team will break down this information at 1 pm with “Talking and Tracking the Tropics - 2020” special on the Action News Jax app on Amazon Fire, Roku and Apple TV.
