JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — Police say the man responsible for hitting two people while driving drunk in Jacksonville Beach in July, killing one of them, is in jail in Ohio after turning himself in.
In home surveillance video obtained by Action News Jax reporter Ryan Nelson, you can see a speeding car taking out trash cans and running a stop sign. Police say this video was taken moments after Joshua Lovingood hit and killed Bryn Turner and left Julio Gomez with serious injuries.
Bryan Hartong's home surveillance camera captured the video we've been showing you since July of Lovingood's speeding car.
"You see a car flying 80 mph across your front yard. You know, it was terrifying," he said.
Lovingood was arrested in Ohio today, charged with driving under the influence manslaughter, vehicular homicide and more. Police say he'll be extradited to Florida.
Hartong says he's thinking of the families involved tonight.
"It's unimaginable what they must be going through," he said.

George Sherwood lives a few doors down from Hartong. His home surveillance captured video of the crash itself, but he tells us it's too graphic for television. Both he and Hartong turned their video over to police.
"Just knowing that the family knows that the person who took their son's life is in jail means a lot to me," said Sherwood.
"I'm glad it helped, and I'm glad it's bringing awareness because we've had a problem on this street ever since we've lived here," said Hartong.
