According to the organization, this year’s race represents a continuation of its partnership with Jacksonville Arts & Music School (JAMS), a community-based after-school art program for children in grades 3-10. All proceeds from the race will go toward expanding the JAMS’ campus, specifically the creation of a second-floor Leadership Hall.

The new space will be used for art residency studios, think tank rooms and an expanded tutoring area.

“At Cowford, we believe it is critical that Jacksonville’s youth have outlets for productive self-expression,” says co-owner Jacques Klempf, in partnership with his wife Tracy. “JAMS plays a very important role in our community and is empowering young community members to reach new heights. We’re proud to extend this partnership another year and to encourage the Jacksonville community to join us in this family friendly event.”

Cowford is also partnering with Jax Cooking Studio to host the annual MOO-VE IT Cooking Competition, featuring JAMS students and Cowford chefs. This opportunity is meant to teach children cooking in a fun way.

“JAMS students and families always enjoy the MOO-VE IT activities at Cowford. We can’t wait to join in again in 2022,” says Jason Peoples, executive director at JAMS. “At JAMS, we strive to create an environment where students can embrace their passions in a safe environment that focuses on leadership skills and art education.”

Cowford’s MOO-VE IT 5K has raised over $70,000 since 2017 for a variety of recipients, with nearly $40,000 supporting JAMS.
