JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly stabbing over on the westside. Inside one of Addison Landing Apartment Homes JSO says a young woman was stabbed to death and another woman, also stabbed, is in the hospital fighting for her life.
“Oh my god, that’s so sad. Her family is going to be so upset,” says Hope Hamilton.
A little before 3:30 this morning, JSO got called out to 103rd Street at Addison Landing Apartment Homes. They found a young woman suffering from at least one stab wound, dead.
“Then a second Black female with some additional stab wounds. The surviving victims have been transported to a local hospital in severe condition and are currently undergoing treatment,” says JSO Homicide Sgt. Robby Henson.
Action News Jax reached out to talk with neighbors but was quickly kicked off the property, so Princess spoke to neighbors across the street at Colonial Village. One local says there are always problems on 103rd and in Addison Landing Apartments.
“There’s been a couple of major fights, domestic and it’s always turned out bad. It’s getting pretty bad over here on 103rd and I’ve been here pretty much my whole life,” says Hamilton.
Another local says the opposite.
“That’s scary to know because 103rd was known as a good area since I’ve been here so that’s really scary,” says a resident of Colonial Village.
JSO says they don’t have any suspects or persons in custody right now.
“At this early stage in the investigation, we are working quickly to identify the deceased victim. And we’re canvassing the area looking for any witnesses or surveillance video that might be in the area,” says Henson.
We know from JSO that both women knew each other but it’s unclear as to whether or not the two women stabbed each other. As more information comes in, we will update you. If you have any information, please call JSO or Crimestoppers to remain anonymous.
