14-year-old hurt after altercation led to shots fired in Northwest Jacksonville, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 14-year-old girl was hurt after an altercation between unknown individuals led to shots fired on Saturday in the 5000 block of Cleveland Road, Jacksonville police say.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around 7 p.m. The 14-year-old was an innocent bystander who was shot after the altercation broke out.

The teen, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital where she is expected to recover.

The search for the suspects is ongoing.
