JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 29-year-old man taken to the hospital after being shot Wednesday night, has died, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
At 9:30 p.m., police said they were called to the area of Rifle Run Court, not far from Fort Caroline Road, because neighbors said they heard a “loud popping noise” and found the 29-year-old outside.
The man, who had been shot once, did not speak with police when they arrived and was taken to the hospital with what JSO said were non-life threatening injuries.
Police later gave an update saying the man died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. His identity has not been released.
“At this time, there is no suspect information to provide,” JSO said. Anyone with information is asked to call JSO at 904-630-0500, or call Crimestoppers to remain anonymous.
